Find a lesson
1. Save 10%
A 10% savings may feel small but is life changing. Then don’t spend it on anything that won’t make you more money later (investments / skills).
2. Look after your health
Poor health decisions catch up to everybody - some people get a few extra years but if you roll the dice enough, you’ll eventually lose.
3. Know who you are
Learn who who you truly are… outside of your accolades, so once that season ends you’re not having an identity crisis.
4. Be willing to rebuild
There are many seasons in life, get used to having to put your ego aside and rebuild.
5. Keep your agency
No matter the difficulty - we always have a choice, and the moment we give up our agency is the moment we die.
6. Understand your brain
Figure out if you have ADHD early and then build systems to manage your brain before defaulting to medication that blunts your spark
7. Train your creativity
Creativity is a skill that can be trained. There is nobody in the world that just “isn’t creative”.
8. Choose your inner circle
Be careful and slow with who you invite into your inner circle - the wrong person can be extremely poisonous.
9. Recklessness has a cost
All the reckless people I grew up with are either dead, in jail, homeless, addicted to drugs, or if they’re lucky - life has forced them to settle down.
10. Fortune favours the bold
Fortune favours the bold. I’ve seen people I thought I was much smarter than, blow right past me because they just went after it while I sat there and thought about it.
11. Think about your 80-year-old self
If you’ve got a big life changing decision to make, ask yourself: “when I’m 80 and look back at this moment, what’ sounds like a better option”?
12. Listen to your intuition
Listen to your intuition - even if it’s difficult in the moment, it’s saving you from bigger difficulties later.
13. Money has limits
Money can’t buy you a calm mind, a fit body and a house full of love. They must be earned.
14. Listen for God
God speaks to you in whispers - it’s your job to quiet the mind, listen and then act with intention.
15. A few good friends
You only need a few good friends for a really fulfilling life.
16. Be open to connections
It pays to be friendly and make loose connections - most of them won’t go anywhere but a few will change your life drastically, and unfortunately you never know which is which when you first meet.
17. Pay attention to your environment
The modern world is trying to kill you. Get tested for mold / heavy metals and microplastics, detox and you’ll have more energy than you could imagine.
18. Question what you’re told
The conspiracy theorists have been directionally correct on a lot more things than they should be. Fact is crazier than fiction.
19. Trust your gut
If mainstream knowledge says one thing but your intuition is telling you the opposite - your gut is probably right and the mainstream will eventually catch up.
20. Assume ignorance before malice
When somebody wrongs or hurts you, assume ignorance instead of malice.
21. Choose business partners you trust
Only go into business with people you’d be comfortable to partner with, without a contract.
22. Take your time travelling
When travelling, stay in one spot for 2 weeks at a time. Find a regular place to go to each day and watch serendipity give you unique and local connections.
23. Be kind
Be kind, even when it hurts to. Especially when it hurts to.
24. Do less
If you’re unable to explain what you do with your days in 30 seconds, you’re doing too much and it’s hurting your success.
25. Commitment and variety
The grass is greener where you water it but also variety is the spice of life - they’re both contradictions but are both true.
26. Prioritise sleep
Good sleep fixes 90% of problems.
27. Take control of your calendar
There is a direct correlation to your happiness level and the level of control you have on what goes into your calendar each week.
28. Let go of perfect
Nothing will ever be perfect - no job, partner, friends, home. Aim for 80% and then work hard on the last 20.
29. Watch their actions
If somebody tells you one thing but their actions say something contradictory - listen to the actions.
30. Don’t expect mind-reading
We rarely understand what’s going on in our own head - so to expect somebody else to, is unreasonable.
31. Protect your attention
Remember with all media (TV / social media etc) - your attention is the product being sold to advertisers.
32. Learn from the past
We tend to overcomplicate our problems - humans have been dealing with similar issues for thousands of years and the frameworks to navigate them exist in historical and religious texts.
33. Give love without expectation
Love is a universal multiplier - the more you give out without expectation the more you’ll get back, as long as you’re not concerned on where you get it back from.
34. Learning the hard way
I can tell you all of these lessons, and maybe you’ll listen to 1 or 2 of them but you’ll likely have to make the mistakes yourself
