The conversation
Why is eating well so hard when you already know what healthy food looks like? I sat down with scientist, nutritionist and emotional eating coach Matty Lansdown, who started out in a cancer hospital and now hosts the podcast How to Not Get Sick and Die.
We get into how food companies make products 'sticky' with less protein and more salt and sugar, why some people can eat pasta in Italy but react to wheat at home, and why Matty thinks the red meat and cancer research lumps grass-fed beef in with fast food. He also shares the meal plan he gives clients, with protein and fat first and carbs at dinner, and his rule that what you eat first, you crave later.
Then we cover long fasts: building up to three to five days, and breaking a fast with bone broth and warm, soft food.
